Things to pack in your hospital bag for delivery

If you are reading this means, the wait is over and this is the time to welcome your bundle of joy.

The below list of items are for the mother to be. You can take a medium size bag to keep these items.

Hospital file/papers – Do not forget to carry your medical file or any other reports/documentation which will be helpful to the doctor.

Comfortable feeding maxi dress / long tops – After delivery you might not like to wear anything tight or body hugging. Loose and comfortable clothes will make you feel comfortable and also help during feeding.

Pair of comfortable slippers or flip-flop – Pair of comfortable anti slip footwear will help you in walking and in washroom.

Pair of socks (as per the weather) – Do not forget to pack pair of socks, as it will help you keep your feet clean and warm.

Feeding Bra – A good soft wireless feeding bra will be your best friend as you will be required to feed the baby multiple times.

Feeding Cover – Keeping a feeding cover will help you to feed the baby comfortably.

Cotton or wet wipes – Wet cotton can be used to clean yourself with water before feeding the baby.

Soft breast pads – Good breast pads can be used to keep your bra clean and dry.

Hand towel – A soft hand towel can be handy to clean your face and hands.

Sanitizer – It can be used by you or the family members to clean hand before touching or holding the new born baby.

Sanitary pads – It is the must to carry, pack of heavy flow long size sanitary pads in your delivery bag.

Few easy fit under wears – Carrying few easy fit under wears can help you post delivery.

Something to eat – Delivering the baby can make you hungry. Having some handy snacks can help you when you feel hungry in odd hours.

For your entertainment/passing time – Carry your phone, i-pad or laptop and yes do not forget to take the chargers.

Toiletries – Tooth paste, tooth brush, hair comb/hair brush, hair ties/clips, face wash.

Lotions/ Creams/ Makeup – Keep your body lotion, any face creams or any other makeup.

Going home dress – An easy fit dress will be best.
