- Keep them away from direct sunlight – With the raising outdoor temperature, it is not at all advisable to take the newborns in sun in summers. In an unavoidable situation, make sure the baby is covered in soft cotton cloth from head to toe. Also avoid direct exposure of sun on the baby’s skin and eyes.
- Keep them hydrated – If the baby is on breast feed only, make sure he/she is frequently fed. The new moms should note that there are times when the baby is sleeping for long hours, especially after taking a bath, you have to wake the baby and feed. If giving water, first boil it and then give the cooled water to the baby.
- Give Oil Massage – Good oil massage relaxes the baby and is very good for the growth.
- Keep them clean – Cleaning the baby multiple times helps in avoiding the skin infections and fungus caused due to sweat. Give a good water bath as babies enjoy bath time. Giving a bath daily with gentle baby body wash, it will help to keep the babies skin moist. Nappy area should also be kept clean. Using baby wet wipes can help you to clean and keep the skin moist at the same time. Nappy area can also be cleaned with water.
- Apply baby cream – Do not forget to apply baby cream after every bath and after cleaning the nappy area. Applying baby cream is important both in winter and summers.
